C&O Canal - Chesapeake & Ohio National Historical Park

National Zoo - A great site featuring the National Zoo located in Washington, DC. Almost as good as visiting the zoo in person (site contains pictures and video). The great thing about the National Zoo is it's free.

The Smithsonian Institute - The Smithsonian Institute of Washington, DC provides links to many of the musuems and organizations in the District. Most musuems are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; all are closed December 25. Extended spring and summer hours are determined annually. Admission is free.

The National Building Musuem - A unique musuem dedicated to American achievements in architecture, construction, engineering and design.

The Pentagon - Learn more about the Pentagon and information on tours.

The U.S. Chess Center - Home of the U.S. Chess Hall of Fame.
